Sharkpaw AGE Seven moons
GENDER She-cat
CLAN Windclan
RANK Apprentice
SHORT DESCRIPTION A fierce silver she-cat with angled green eyes.
APPEARANCE
Sharkpaw does not exactly look like a Windclan cat. Her legs are quite short and her muscle tends towards bulk, rather than the lanky build of most of her clanmates. It gives her a little extra strength, but the speed that Windclan is famed for escapes her. Chasing rabbits across the fields is difficult, and she’s much more suited to using the muscles in her back legs for jumping up and down the cliffs or swimming.
PERSONALITY
Hard-working : For all the bad things that can be said about Sharkpaw – and there are an awful lot of bad things that can be said about her -, no one can deny that she works hard. The apprentice is tireless when it comes to hunting and patrolling borders, preforming the tasks her mentor gives her to the very best of her ability. Not only that, Sharkpaw enjoys working, and takes great pride in a job well done. Honestly, when she’s not working, the apprentice feels a little bit lost.
Independent : She may feel lost when without any job to do, but that doesn’t mean Sharkpaw will just lay around waiting for someone else to tell her what to do. The apprentice takes initiative quickly, and if her mentor or an older clan member doesn’t give her instructions, she’ll take things in to her own hand. It’s not unusual for her to try and sneak out of camp so she can take matters in to her own hands, be it hunting or ‘patrolling’.
Fearless : Sharkpaw doesn’t care much when the odds are against her. It’s not that she doesn’t know when she’s got a good chance of failing, it’s more or less that she’s not afraid of much at all. Unfortunately, her bravery can be just as detrimental to the clan as it is beneficial, as Sharkpaw lives for the thrill of high-risk, high-reward adventures and hunts. She has the potential to be an unwavering warrior – if she lives that long.
Determined : Failure is not an option as far as Sharkpaw is concerned. She is fiercely determined, and doesn’t quite know how to take no as an answer. Once the apprentice has her mind sent to something, she can be incredibly difficult to sway. That determination can take a negative bent and turn in to pointless stubbornness. Often, it's better to let her try out her ideas and see the mistakes she's made than trying to argue with her. Sharkpaw rarely admits when she's wrong, she'll (at least a little more) quietly follow someone whose been proven to make better decisions then her
Blood thirsty : Simple things, the catching of any old mouse or squirrel, don’t excite Sharkpaw. She’s got her eyes on bigger things, and nothing would make her happier than to drag back one of the big hares that roam the Windclan hills. If there's a fox in the area, Sharkpaw will be the first to try and sneak after the warrior patrols going to sniff it out. She absolutely loves things that are bigger and scarier than her.
Self-centered : While Sharkpaw doesn't need to be the absolute center of attention, she needs to have some sort of recognition. Being just another face in the crowd terrifies her, and she'll do just about anything to avoid that. It's not unusual to see Sharkpaw talking loudly or climbing to a higher position in an attempt to get a little more notice. She may not need the spotlight, but she certainly thrives in the limelight.
HISTORY - Thrushpaw of Windclan and Bleakpaw of Riverclan met at a gathering. There was an instant spark between the pair - of hatred. They were instant rivals and their mentors quickly had to herd them to opposite sides of the clearing the gathering was held in. This did nothing to stop the glaring between the two.
- Any meetings on the borders between the two instantly devolved into chaos. Border patrols turned into battles as Thrushpaw provoked the temperamental Bleakpaw with her sharp tongue or Bleakpaw insulted the vain Thrushpaw's looks. By the time Thrushpaw became Thrushthorn and Bleakpaw was Bleakclaw, the pair were infamous in the forest for their hatred of each other.
- So no one suspected that they were secretly meeting. At first, the meetings were accidental. A run in along the border while on a solo patrol. Then a challenge to a hunting contest. Soon they were seeking out each others company. Their rivalry became more and more friendly, until Bleakclaw confessed his feelings for Thrushthorn.
- Their affair was a mistake, an engagement between foolish young cats in love. When Thrushthorn fell pregnant, they were both horrified. They argued and Bleakclaw broke off the relationship, disowning his unborn kits. Thrushthorn returned to the clan humiliated. She joined the nursery without telling anyone the identity of the kits father.
- She bore two kits. A reedy little tom by the name of Hailkit and a she-cat by the name of Sharkkit.
- Sharkkit grew quickly, outpacing her smaller brother and becoming a terror in the nursery. She declared herself the leader of the kits her own age and often dragged her littermate on adventures. Once, she managed to make it halfway out of the camp before one of the elders caught her.
- She was excited to be apprenticed. In the first few weeks of her apprenticeship, however, she is lagging behind the other apprentices and growing more and more frustrated - she isn't succeeding in any area of windclan life. She's doing alright in fighting lessons, but that seems to be the only area she's succeeding in.
