[/b]Honeyheart is devoted to both the clan and his friends, to the point of absolute devotion. If the leader or deputy tells him to attack something big and scary, he’ll do it. If a friend tells him to leap in to the deep part of a river, he’ll do it. The tom’s loyalty can veer in to dangerous territory; Honeyheart trusts his loved ones and clan members to the point of totally ignoring common sense.Honeyheart
AGE Thirty moons
GENDER Tom
CLAN Riverclan
RANK Warrior
SHORT DESCRIPTION A bulky cream tabby tomcat with long fur and sharp blue eyes.
APPEARANCE Like his father, Honeyheart is a big cat, and his long fur makes him look even larger. He’s packed with muscle, though his size means he’s better fit for scaring off enemies of the clan than chasing down birds. His long legs prevent him from looking too chubby or unbalanced, but in winter his fur tends to puff out and make him look a little on the heavier side. Despite his bulk, the tom takes after his mother as far as facial structure is concerned, with a strong, elegant bone structure and angled eyes that are bright blue.
For all of the amount of him that there is, Honeyheart doesn’t carry himself like he’s big and bad. His broad shoulders are usually slumped, and in general his disposition is terribly nervous. The tom has a tendency to flatten his ears backwards during conversation, and, unless he’s with clanmates and friends, he rarely looks others in the eyes.
PERSONALITY
romantic There are few cats who are more infatuated with the idea of, well, infatuation than Honeyheart. He thinks love is just about the most fantastic thing there is in this world, and spends much of his time fawning over the idea of falling in love with some handsome cat. He views most things with a veil of romanticism, from family to pain to death. Because of that, it can be awfully easy for Honeyheart to downplay how bad something is, even the most terrible horrors passing through his rose tinted glasses.
paternal If there’s anything Honeyheart loves more than the idea of snuggling up to someone he adores, it’s kits. He’s nurturing and doting, more than happy to watch the kittens of queens who need to take a break from the nursery. The tom may not be very confident, but that doesn’t stop him from trying to each kits what’s wrong and what’s right. He won’t hesitate to throw himself in the way of danger to protect those younger than him. His morals can get a bit skewed, but the protection of kits is one tenement of the warrior code that Honeyheart will uphold until the end of time.
protective There’s little more that Honeyheart wants in life than to protect his clan. Love is nice and all, and he certainly wouldn’t say no to some handsome tom standing by him for the rest of his rife, but he’s certain that his true calling is just to keep others safe. He won’t hesitate to die for the clan or friendsm because, as far as he’s concerned, that’s what he’s made to do.
jealous Honeyheart has always been a possessive cat. As a kit, he loathed sharing the colorful rocks his father brought him. As a warrior, his jealousy has gotten even worse and usually revolves around his friends. While his low self-esteem makes the tom hesitant to ever become angry with those he loves, he has no problem getting angry at a stranger that’s ‘stealing’ the attention of the clanmates he moons after. His usually warm, shy personality goes frigid when he’s faced with those awfully rude people who think they can steal the love and attention that belongs to him.
self-conscious Part of Honeyheart’s jealousy comes from the fact he views people who care about him as a premium, something there’s very, very few of. The tom was always shy and unsure, and the actions of his mentor have only made him more so. It’s rare that Honeyheart acts without anyone telling him what to do, and he’ll always wait for someone else’s go-ahead before preforming anything but the most basic tasks. He still blames himself for Blizzardfang’s disappearance, which has made his self-esteem plummet further.
paranoid Honeyheart worries. Really, that’s what he spends most of his free time doing. He’s concerned about immediate things, like if his fur looks nice, but more than that, he worries about things that really don’t make sense to worry about. A few clanmates are sick? What if they’re about to all come down with fever and die? There was a nasty storm? The river’s going to flood! He tends to rely on his friends to keep him from panicking. If he does end up acting on his paranoia, Honeyheart gets horribly embarrassed afterwards.
clingy There is nothing Honeyheart loves more than being close to the people he cares about; too close, in some cases. He absolutely hates letting loved ones out of his sight and gets nervous that something bad is happening to them. The tom is terrified of other cats leaving him, which makes his tendency to hover even worse. Anyone who values their personal space would do well to stay away from Honeyheart, lest they find themselves trapped and groomed forever.
HISTORY
- Honeykit is born as the sole kit to Bouldersplash and Hollyflower. Hollyflower, carrying only one kit and in her first pregnancy, isn't even aware she is pregnant until she goes into labor during a patrol. Luckily, Honeykit is delivered safely and brought to camp where Hollyflower is lightly scolded by the medicine cat for not being more aware of her body. His parents both dote on him a great deal, though his father Bouldersplash is somewhat uncomfortable with some of his son’s behaviors.
- Honeypaw is apprenticed to a sleek, graceful cat named Blizzardfang. Blizzardfang capitalizes on Honeypaw's insecurity to the point of being abusive, completely undermining Honeypaw's confidence and then building him up to be completely dependent on Blizzardfang's praise. Still, Honeypaw adores his mentor and doesn't dare think of telling another cat how Blizzardfang treats him.
- He graduates to a warrior at fourteen moons despite Blizzardfang advising the leader that he isn't ready. He becomes Honeyheart for his loyalty to the clan, and is absolutely delighted. Unfortunately, his mentor doesn't feel the same way. Blizzardfang is furious at losing him so soon and confronts the young warrior during his vigil. His anger and cruel words nearly convince Honeyheart that he really shouldn't be a warrior and couldn't possibly be ready to take on so many responsibilities. Almost.
- Hollyflower happens to have been approaching to check on her son and intervene's before Blizzardfang can convince her son he doesn't deserve to be a warrior. She's furious and attacks Blizzardfang, leading to a battle the eventually awakes the rest of Riverclan. Blizzardfang bolts and hasn't been seen by the rest of the clan since. The warrior blamed - and still blames - himself for Blizzardfang's leaving. Many moons had been spent worrying that his clanmembers resented him for the loss of someone who Honeyheart was -and still is- convinced is just so inherently better than himself.
- He searches incessantly for Blizzardfang for a few moons. On one of his searches alone, he runs in to a young fox near the abandoned light house. Honeyheart escapes unharmed, but the close encounter discourages his searching.
- The warrior's self-esteem stays rock bottom, and his performance as a warrior suffers as he falters in patrols and hunting. In a last ditch attempt to salvage Honeyheart's confidence, the leader gives him an apprentice at twenty moons. Their name is Nettlepaw, and Honeyheart adores them.
- Honeyheart shows a surprising amount of confidence in mentoring them. While their size difference makes it a bit awkward at first, Honeyheart's protective instincts keep the nervous apprentice feeling safe even on patrols. When Nettlepaw graduates, he's incredibly proud. Unfortunately, as Honeyheart places most of his worth on being a mentor, he tends to waste away when not having an apprentice to dote on.
OTHER Honeyheart suffers from violent intrusive thoughts. He relies on consistent routine and the ritualistic checking and rechecking of things like borders, the camp boundaries, and dens to stave them off. They tend to worsen during the night and can cause him serious trouble sleeping.[/ul][/div][/blockquote][/blockquote]
