SHORT DESCRIPTION a small orange-and-white tabby tom with green eyes
APPEARANCE Mudpaw seems to be small because he
wills himself to be so; he's constantly hoping that no one will notice him... or so it seems. His build is very slim and lithe, and what he lacks in strength he makes up for in agility and stealth. His white paws are almost daintily small, but they hide curved claws ready to defend ShadowClan should he need to.
His fur is a lovely mix of orange and white - he has deeper stripes of dark orange running through the top layer of his fur, which earned him the prefix "mud", much to his displeasure. His belly, legs and the underside of his face is all white, while his eyes are a pleasant shade of yellowish-green. To be frank, Mudpaw looks like he couldn't hurt a fly.
One wouldn't be wrong in their thinking; he seems more apt to be helping the medicine cat and their apprentice rather than cutting down other cats and mice in the forest.
PERSONALITY
awkward. Mudpaw is almost skittish - not quite easily spooked, really, but he's easily overwhelmed. Socially, he's a flop; there will likely be stalls in conversation, and he tends to overthink his actions before he does anything, which doesn't necessarily always make a good warrior... considering that in a battle, it's of the do-or-die persuasion.
selfless. Awkward as he may be, though, Mudpaw always seeks to make others comfortable. He feels as if it's better that he's on edge rather than someone worthwhile. He's kind, and is always willing to lend a helping paw. While it can be debated that he just wants to make himself useful in some way, Mudpaw genuinely enjoys helping out because he likes to see the smiles on cats' faces. Is that so wrong?
self-deprecating. Well, it is when he genuinely doesn't have a concern for his own safety. In a manner of speaking, Mudpaw doesn't care much for himself; he believes that others should be held above him because he's not as strong, or as fast, and he can't do as much for his Clan as he should be. Even with the guidance of his mentor, he's often doing things wrong (in his head) and constantly frets over what he should have done in the past.
brave. Since he doesn't much look out for himself, it makes sense that he would look out for others instead. In that same vein, Mudpaw often crashes headfirst into things, but unintentionally so; he's impulsive and does many things without thinking, but it needs to be triggered in him before he can actually move forward and
do it. Regardless, he's the kind of self-sacrificing idiot that would throw himself in front of a killing blow and find respite in the fact that it was for the good of others.
suffocating. The cats he does get close to tend to easily get annoyed with Mudpaw, just because he's so unused to
having friends that he leans on them like a crutch. Not because he thinks any less of them; rather, just the opposite, and wants to have them around in case he shows a case of his own weakness. He wants to surround himself with other cats, but it's difficult when he faces anxiety about it almost every time he tries.
affectionate. Yet he does try to reward his friends for sticking with him, even if it's as simple as getting them a mouse from the fresh kill pile or sharing tongues with them. He craves attention in a way, and really does want someone to confide in; he also feels as if that's selfish of him, however, and as such tamps down on that feeling and tries to limit his affections toward his friends as just that: affection, and not letting them know all of his insecurities.
HISTORY He was born the only kit of a litter, to a she-cat named Honeyclaw and a tom named Thistlefoot.
