APPEARANCE photoPERSONALITY Thicketwhisker is a strong tom with one major goal in life: Make ShadowClan Whole. He is a strong soul who is willing to sacrifice anything for his Clan and his family, even his own life should it come down to that. He is a peaceful tom who wishes to see his Clan at good odds with the other three and he is always quick to aid another, even a non-Clan cat.
He is very family oriented as well. Although he believes that even those who are not of blood relation to him are still his family, his beautiful mate Featherfall and his kits come first to him. He will always put them first and he is not afraid to leap into battle for him. Although he is a strong a noble cat, he is also very gentle and is not one to fight unnecessarily. He sees the value in a good battle of dominance but he does not see value in fighting just because. He would rather everyone be at peace.
He is a rock of emotions and is often the one others turn to for advice or just for an ear. He is not likely to go blabbing secrets around. He is stoic and silent, although that trait has diminished now that he is leader and must talk often. While his size would state otherwise, his true skills lie in hunting and planning. He is patient enough to wait in a bush for hours until that one perfect piece of prey wanders by. He is not quick to act and always thinks through his actions.
HISTORY Thicketkit was born alongside a brother - Rock-kit - and a sister - Emberkit. Salt-tongue and Shadenose were an unlikely match for parents but despite their bickering and much eye-rolling on her part, the pair were actually quite in love. The white tom was always able to make her smile, even when she hated him for it. And that playful-ness and affection was passed down to the three kits in the only litter they had. Rock-kit was a solid brown, taking much more after his mother's dark pelt then his father's. Emberkit was an orange tabby and to be quite honest, now one is entirely sure where her colouration came from - the shock of her pelt was enough to earn her name.
Thicketkit was the only long-haired in the group and he was named for the brown tabby patches that looked like he'd gotten stuck in thickets and hadn't been able to pull them all loose. He was a mixture of his mother's long dark tabby coat and his father's white one. Of the three, Thicketkit was the usual one to take charge. He was brave and dashing and handsome and just all around awesome and the other two followed him like a leader.
When the apprentices were named, they were each partnered with a very respectable warrior. Emberpaw was to be mentored by Newtstar, Rockpaw by his mother Shadenose and Thicketpaw by the notorious Skylark. And the tabby and white tom was eager to prove his worth to the tough but honest she-cat. Skylark didn't make things easy for him, but he also wasn't one to slack off. Thicketpaw was often up in the morning before she was, out hunting or in his later days in the training hollow practicing drills before she could get out there. She was proud of him and she had often called him her favorite.
When he hit 12 moons, it was obvious that his attention was drifting from his work and his training, to the pretty she-apprentice who had moved in a few moons after him. Featherpaw was her name and she was as beautiful as all get out. He spent more and more of his time trying to show off to her then to his mentor and after a few weeks of it, Skylark was done trying to win him back. She gave him his final test and sent him on his way to being a warrior.
At 13 moons, Thicketwhisker sat his warrior vigil. He spent the next moon being an epic young warrior, hunting every morning and bringing the pretty apprentice food or volunteering for every patrol to show how strong he was. It came to the point that Newtstar appointed Thicketwhisker with a young apprentice to hopefully bring his mind back to reality. Cowpaw was her name and she was a sweet little tuxedo. But Thicketwhisker wanted little to do with her. He spent battle training having her spar other apprentices while he sat off tot eh side and spoke with Featherpaw of other warriors. he sent her out to hunt on her won and hard;y ever praised her for the food she returned with.
Cowpaw grew bitter and began acting out to get attention from the cat who was supposed to make her a warrior. But Thicketwhisker ignored her. When she was 10 moons and he was 18, they made the journey to the Moonstone as every apprentice must. She was killed by a fox after verbally berating Thicketwhisker for his neglect. (See Forgiveness - a Thicketstar Oneshot for more information) He swore then that if he ever had a say in it, no cat would be granted an apprentice until they were absolutely ready. He never wanted a repeat of what happened with Cowpaw.
Despite his fears, Featherfall had accepted his mistake and still wanted to be with him. Shortly after, she moved the the nursery and announced she was pregnant with his litter. At 21 moons, she gave birth to two tomkits. Frostkit and Brairkit were their names and Thicketwhisker was so proud. He spent the next six moons fawning over them and Featherfall. He kept up with his duties but begged he not be given another apprentice until his kits were old enough to not be a distraction. When his kits were made apprentices, he was asked to mentor Cloverpaw and agreed. He made sure to put the apprentice first before all else and was hard on her, as Skylark had been. He trained day and night with the she-cat and made sure that she was always prepared for anything that came her way. Cloverstem was named at the same time Briarshade was (Thicketwhisker had asked that his two sons be named after his fierce and beautiful mother who had recently passed) and Newtstar had obliged. But Frostpaw's naming ceremony was delayed two moons due to a greencough epidemic that left him weak.
At age 40 Thicketwhisker found himself a father again. Featherfall gave birth to their second litter, this time of three kits - Sedgepaw a tom and Crowpaw and Lilypaw, two she-kits. Thicketwhisker was again proud of his babies and was excited to see them grow up.
