calm, hardworking, intelligent, reserved, straight-forward, absent-minded, stoic friends:
brackenfang is certainly open to these, but he may be a somewhat difficult cat to befriend for some. while he is likely at least respected by most as the clan's medicine cat (and as the full medicine cat for over four seasons now, though only barely), brackenfang's reserved and thoughtful nature can mean that he doesn't normally actively seek to befriend other cats. he doesn't actively seek not to either, though - so if his straight-forward ways, sometimes outwardly emotionless posture, and slightly odd mannerisms are enough to endear himself to any cat, then that's great. he isn't really concerned with making friends simply because he doesn't really mind at all what other cats think of him, often off in his own mind and duties anyway - though he does tend to care deeply for others when the chance comes up, even if only through observing his clan and healing their ills. if befriended, brackenfang would prove to be a loyal and compassionate companion.cats brackenfang currently considers friends: silverflower (played by boggs), snowfoot (ufa), firedream (played by boggs)enemies:
again, brackenfang is open to these, but may not be the type of cat who lends himself to earning them. this is not because he is especially likable (or especially unlikable), but simply because he is not the type of cat to really engage in any conflict unless he truly feels it necessary. however, brackenfang is also a very judgmental cat, even if he will not speak these ills towards others unprompted - though when prompted or confronted, or otherwise provoked, his blunt and straight-forward nature might come through, and he would likely not hesitate a single heartbeat before telling a cat he considered scorn-worthy exactly how he felt about them. as a result of this judgmental nature and tendency to hold grudges, and his likewise somewhat aloof and uncaring streak when it comes to how other cats feel about it, it is likely that many enemies could be one-sided, from either direction (though some still could be mutual.)cats brackenfang currently considers enemies: lakeheartromance:
as a medicine cat, brackenfang probably isn't open for any real or serious romance. though he isn't particularly nitpicky about rule-following, there is a line to be drawn somewhere, and it's likely he wouldn't ever consider jeopardizing his role as medicine cat so severely. that said, it is still possible (though highly unlikely) that a romance could occur, but brackenfang's loyalty to his duties might cause some issues in that department even if he were to enter any form of romance. he also has a tendency towards preferring males or otherwise non-female individuals, so romance with any she-cat is very, very unlikely. one-sided feelings towards brackenfang are totally fine, though starclan help the poor cat who might end up falling for him!clan-wide info:

OPEN OPEN OPEN OPEN OPEN i don't know how many times i can say open. volepaw is the type of cat who loves to make friends, and it's pretty much his goal to make as many friends as he possibly can, within his clan or outside its borders. he's enthusiastic and outgoing and very friendly, and having attended one gathering so far, it's likely that he chatted up at least a few cats of other clans during it. among his own clan, it's likely the youth that volepaw would have tried chatting up so far - but he doesn't exactly discriminate, so it's very possible that younger warriors or even senior warriors and elders could be among volepaw's 'targets', so to speak, as far as his friendship spreading. he simply seems to love everyone, and wants to do his best to make friends with everyone, something that his considerable amount of charm could perhaps help. (though so help his crossclan friends when it comes time for a battle - volepaw can be somewhat ruthless, and as much as he might consider them a friend, all bonds are temporarily severed during combat, as far as he's concerned.) he likes to do things for others, and would be the type to offer a particularly juicy bit of prey to a friend instead of himself or offer to kit-watch for the nursery queens. he'd also love hanging around the elders - he loves stories, and especially ones regarding those who have passed on, as he has a deep fascination with the idea of spirits and of starclan. that said, though volepaw is a very friendly cat and has a great deal of affection and care for any cat he considers a friend, he can sometimes seem to lack any forethought for how others will feel based off of how he acts, even though he is good at reading these feelings when they do come up. he is somewhat self-absorbed and perhaps even a little selfish - in the end, he does want what is best for his friends, but the ways in which he achieves helping them get there might sometimes hurt them without him even thinking about it. cats volepaw currently considers friends: probably everyone (but currently no one in particular)enemies:

volepaw is definitely open for romance! he can be a little oblivious sometimes, even though he's fairly decent at reading emotions when he does try, so it's possible that he might be a little dense when it comes to realizing romance is afoot. volepaw would be a very affectionate cat to be in a relationship with, however, and would likely give whichever cat happened to catch his fancy his full, undivided attention at least a good amount of the time (when he wasn't busy flitting from friend to friend as usual.) clan-wide info:

I would love for Foxtail to have some time with Volepaw at some point because cute. He loves his littlest right to death it's unbearable really.
I don't know if they're enemies or not, but I'm a betting Halfpatch and Brackenfang don't get along. I wouldn't have put it past her to have heard about Lakeheart and said that her wounds didn't sound fatal. She wouldn't suspect anything, but she'd probably think less of him.

that'd be sweet! id love to get some bonding time w fox and vole!!
i was figuring they didn't get along either - though i do want to point out that lakeheart's wounds were still quite grave! it was more like a 'well, even if i treat her, she may not survive' situation and he just decided he was better off making the decision to let her die and end the abuse she perpetuated once and for all. in truth it's possible she might have died even if he tried to heal her (though she also may have lived), but its the principle behind it u kno. he's kind of a judgmental kind of cat and that was his version of finally passing judgment on a cat who did not deserve the life she had. HOWEVER i do think either way (even if she just blames him perhaps for simply not trying at all, like 'damn those injuries MIGHT have been treatable but he didnt try') that brackenfang himself might judge halfpatch rather harshly. after all, he's pretty judgmental in general, and he CHOSE to be a medicine cat after training as a warrior because it was what he truly wanted. and he gave up a lot to do so (his relationship with his siblings, a chance at romance etc) - and all willingly. he would probably resent halfpatch's attitude towards her role a little (and how she didn't just jump at the chance to help when her former mentor passed) even if he might never speak his resentment aloud unless it ever came up? (i.e. if she provoked him or verbally attacked him first) i feel like they simply might not have as strong a relationship as some medicine cats might, and thusly while bracken would attempt to be diplomatic still as in herb trades, it would often be rather forced and too-formal.
