Hello there, Sylvan here.
I'm a 19 year old cis woman from the United States, and I've been roleplaying off-and-on for about seven years now. The initial site I joined back in 2008 was the first formal experience I had with the play-by-post format, and I've been hooked ever since. Unfortunately, that particular forum was past its prime by the time I got there and went inactive within a year. The next one I joined had been established for years and has had a good long run, but it has recently diverged from its Warriors roots into a multi-genre roleplay in an attempt to cater to a wider audience, and I've decided that it's no longer for me.
While I do enjoy roleplaying a variety of things-usually animal characters and fantasy settings-I must say that I have the most muse for warrior cats. And as I've found myself bitten by the Warriors bug again recently, I've been in search of a website where I can make a fresh start with my roleplaying. That's why I'm so glad to have found the place, as it looks promising and I can't wait to see where the plots go. I actually have several old characters who have evolved over the years, and as their concepts aren't entirely set in stone, perhaps I could revamp them a bit and give them some new life over here.
As for the series, I can't say that I'm as interested in the books themselves as I once was. But I'll always be intrigued by the premise of their universe, and the possibilities it holds for expansion and modifications. I suppose that's what keeps drawing me back to Warriors; the world in which these characters live is vast enough to hold my interest, even when the writing has fallen flat. That being said, I do also enjoy discussing the Erins' writing choices-the good, the bad, and the... dubious.
Aside from going on tangents about book series, I do have other interests. I've taken up photography in the past several years, and that's resulted in me spending most of my time stalking wildlife around my neighborhood. After discovering macro photography, I've also abused that particular mode on my camera quite often. It's kind of incredible how different things look up close; in short, its fun to play with perspective. I used to draw a lot too, although not so much anymore. I'm hoping to change that though, and maybe my characters' escapades will give me some ideas as to what to draw. In addition, I'll also use Photoshop to clean up my photos as well as to do some manipulations and edits. I think I might open up a graphics shop here in the future; I never seem to tire of making signatures and banners for my characters. Some other fields I enjoy looking into are science and history and their various branches.
Well, it looks like I've written a novel, so I suppose I'll leave it at that for now.
Anyway, I'll see you around! :)
